Editor's Review:

GotTheJob.com has plenty of resume packages to choose from. From entry-level professionals, to upper management, IT and engineering to military transition, they offer professionally-written bespoke resumes for almost any job type. Their packages include your resume, a cover letter, thank you letter and a list of job boards, plus a variety of extras if needed.

The first thing to be aware of is that you cannot buy a resume on its own from GotTheJob. Its most basic packages include your resume (in three formats) plus supporting documents and a list of sites which will accept your resume. This is great if you want all of those things, particularly as some of the packages are much cheaper than their equivalents elsewhere, but if you only want a resume then you might not be quite so interested.

In fairness to GotTheJob.com, their resume package prices are in line with the cost of a resume (without the extras) on many other resume writing websites. This means you are essentially getting those extra documents for free. However, you can find cheaper services which will write the resume on its own, so it’s a case of deciding what you want and balancing up the pros and cons of each option.

The website contains plenty of samples so you can find out how your resume might look and sound once it’s written. That is, if the links work. When we were writing this review we couldn’t actually view any of the samples, which is unfortunate.

In terms of credentials, Got The Job does pretty well. They’re affiliated with some of the main resume-writing bodies, pus they have graduates from some impressive universities, as well as having written various books on job seeking. This is reassuring as it shows they’re actively involved in current job markets, so ought to be up to date in their work and research.

A slight negative is the design of the website. Although it’s easy to navigate, it’s somewhat sloppily designed, with random colorful text and banners dotted around. It feels a bit antiquated or underdeveloped, and could use a spruce up. At least they’re forthright about what they do and how much it costs, though, as this information is easily available without too much hunting around the site.

The team also offer some careers coaching, particularly if you’re really unsure which direction to take your life in. Their program helps you to identify your skills, consider what lifestyle you want and then build a job plan around that. There are also salary negotiation programs, interview training and more, although prices for these programs are only available on request.

If you’re looking for a cheap resume and nothing else, Got The Job probably isn’t the ideal website for you. However, if you want a little online support, a resume with a cover letter and various other services such as LinkedIn profile building, this is certainly a viable option. What’s more, if you don’t get a job interview within 60 days, they’ll rewrite your resume for free.
