Editor's Verdict:

The Fuller CV seem to have an impressive amount of detail on their website. The founder of the company is introduced, as are the writers, which is something that's not always present on other sites. The Fuller CV are partnered with highly recognizable UK recruitment agencies and they appear to be clear on what they do and how they do it.

After a little further investigation the information provided is thin on the ground. There may be a separate web page for information like Press Releases and Definition of a CV, which sounds good, but they amount to little more than fifty words or less. The template for a great site is there, but the rich information it should contain just isn't there.

We were interested to try the free CV review service and unfortunately the results were disappointing. We completed the online form only to be given a reference number and asked to call them! The web pages for this service are very misleading. For a start, if you have to call them, this is not free - the number is not a free number. Secondly, where you're asked to complete an electronic submission form you expect the process to be electronic, but if you don't phone and instead request an email service there is a charge for this of just under £10.

We did receive a call from The Fuller CV. The caller had clearly not read the CV we sent them before offering the review. The information was helpful enough, but the caller missed some crucial information due to a lack of preparation.

There are CV templates available for graduates that are produced in Word for editing. You get examples of CVs, so you can see what others are writing and examples of cover letters. We're not too sure what benefit you get from this at £27+VAT as surely if you have your own CV written by a professional you shouldn't need any further examples, you should have the perfect CV already. You also get a template for a model CV template for a graduate, but again, we wonder why. Useful documents that you do get with this pack are a Career Tips document, three functional CVs and four cover letters.

Annoyingly, all of The Fuller CV prices for services are written excluding VAT and astonishingly their prices go up to £1000 - yes, that's without VAT. We stumbled across the full service whilst browsing the graduate section and we're confused to see these astronomical prices listed without any description whatsoever of what the service involves.

Other services offered for graduates are interesting and helpful, for example, psychometric tests and interview coaching although it took us a while to see the prices. The descriptions for these extra services describe the problem, such as "Facing redundancy or seeking a career change?" but then either don't seem to offer a solution at all or provide a very basic response.

The Career Advice help line page that caught our attention very quickly disappointed. The text is exactly the same as for the Interviews page, the only difference is they say they will soon be launching the line but unfortunately no date is given for launch.

Professionals get a one-to-one CV consultation over the phone to identify their key skills and this service is provided up until 8.30pm in the evening, daily. Turnaround is within five days. You will be contacted to collect and review your CV from their secure website and any changes you might want to make are free up to seven days following the notification date.

The Fuller CV provide an interesting sales service for £175 on top of your CV or for £385 as a stand alone product. Again, these prices are minus VAT costs. The service sounds good and is designed to attract clients rather than recruiters. However, it's a one page document and the process of how it is compiled or exactly what use it is is hazy at best, so this charge seems excessive.

Another alternative service provided by The Fuller CV is help for those facing redundancy. However, this service is lacking in that seems to lean towards self promotion rather than offering any solution.

We suspect The Fuller CV is stronger offline than it is online. The website leaves something to be desired and really lets their service down. However, telephone numbers and numerous email addresses are offered on every service pages and they may come across better over the phone than they do online.
