Resume Edge offers professionally-written resumes for entry level, professional and executive job applications. Your resume is written in tandem with a specialist in your field of employment, with phone consultations available to make sure you’re on the same wavelength. You can submit existing resumes for improvement, or start one from scratch, as well as focusing on your LinkedIn profile.
There are several services available from ResumeEdge.com, but let’s start with the main service: resume writing. You can send in your existing resume or request that a new resume is produced. This is created by gathering data in a number of ways. Firstly, you can fill in a questionnaire. Secondly, you can talk in a 30-45 minute phone consultation with your writer. Thereafter, you can communicate with your writer if you want to add or remove information, or need to discuss something else with them. Once your resume is as you’d like it, you’re ready to apply for jobs!
Resume samples can be viewed online, which provides a good opportunity to check whether or not you feel Resume Edge will provide the end product you’re looking for. The resumes look professional and well organized, avoiding waffle and sticking to the necessary information. If you are, however, looking for unusual layouts and templates, you might wish to look for a company which is a little more experimental in design.
As well as resumes, the team offer cover letter writing services ($50 for a cover letter) and LinkedIn profile improvements ($70). These help to set your tone and personality before an employer might even have looked at your resume.
The “Meet the editors” page allows you the opportunity to find out a little about the Resume Edge team. Many of their writers have been certified through the main accreditation bodies (namely, Professional Association of Resume Writers and Career Coaches Professional Resume Writers). They have experience with more than 40 industries, meaning you should be matched with a writer who knows your field. You can check their employee profiles easily, as each writer has an online biography.
Recently written articles on resume writing and job hunting are available. These include topics such as how to write cover letters, tips for student resumes, video job interview tips and more. This is a really useful and engaging resource as the writers have often written the articles in an interesting and appealing way.
Turnaround times aren’t as quick as we’ve seen elsewhere, though ResumeEdge does offer a 3 day express service. More usually, resumes take around one week for a first draft to emerge. Of course, much of this depends on how busy the writers are and how much information you’ve provided.
Resume Edge isn’t the cheapest resume writing service available, but you do get a personal service. This is supported by the 30-45 minute personal consultation and the fact that you are allotted a personal writer who you can contact through the process.
If you’re looking for substantial support when creating a resume, ResumeEdge could be for you. It costs a little more than the cheaper resume writing services, but it does offer enhanced support.
