A note on terminology: Resumé is French for "summary", while Curriculim Vitae is Latin for "course of life". In general, a resume is a brief 1-2 page summary, while a CV is often more than 2 pages and charts your 'course of life' in more depth, including your educational qualifications, research experience, academic publications, honors, affiliations, etc. A CV is often used when applying for academic positions or research grants. Therefore, a resume and CV normally differ in their length, composition and function.
