Resumes Planet writes bespoke resumes, CVs, additional letters, and offers clients access to employment databases. Prices are relatively low and package options offer further discounts. They also provide guarantees that you will receive an interview when using the resume they’ve written for you, and that you will be satisfied with what they produce.

Since our last review of this website, we’ve noticed that a number of people have been unhappy with the standard of their resume from ResumesPlanet. This is very disappointing because the site showed a lot of promise. In contrast, other customers are really pleased with their resume, so it seems as though Resumes Planet might need to make sure all of their clients are receiving a more satisfying service across the board.

Thankfully, if you aren’t completely satisfied, then the site offers a guarantee, although the details of this guarantee aren’t all that apparent. They do, however, suggest that you will receive an interview within a month and that your use of their services will be kept confidential. If you don’t receive an offer of an interview within 30 days then they will edit your resume without charge.

As well as resumes, they also write LinkedIn profiles, CVs, cover letters and thank you letters. If you’ve done the leg work on your own resume then you can simply request that their writers edit it or redesign the layout, which is generally cheaper than having the whole resume written for you.

In the FAQ, when asked “Where can I view samples of your resume?” their answer was: “The samples are available to view here” but there was no link to follow and no samples in sight. Most peculiar, and not all that confidence-inspiring. Search around a little and you’ll find that you can check samples if you go to the bottom of the homepage. We weren’t massively impressed by the samples; although they were relatively well written, they felt a bit cluttered and weren’t always that good at highlighting your best traits and experiences.

If you need a resume quickly, the site offers them as soon as 24 hours from accepting your case. This is fast, although not as quick as we’ve seen elsewhere. More generally, they take 5 days, but you can pay a little extra to have the resume sooner. Discounts are also available if you wish to purchase cover letters and thank you letters as part of a package.

Given the slight errors on the site, the somewhat disappointing samples and the various complaints from clients, we find it hard to suggest using Resumes Planet. If you’re in a hurry and don’t want to spend too much, they might be a viable option, but in this busy marketplace there are other options which won’t come with any risk attached.
